MQTT Transmission Publish Ignition tag data over MQTT securely and efficiently MQTT Transmission bridges the OT–IT gap by publishing real-time SCADA data from Ignition to MQTT-enabled platforms, enterprise systems, and IIoT applications using the lightweight and open Sparkplug MQTT protocol. Any Ignition tag can be transformed into a Sparkplug-compliant payload and securely transmitted to MQTT brokers, edge gateways, other Ignition gateways, or cloud services like AWS Greengrass all without custom scripting or middleware. Ideal for: wide-area SCADA systems or networks with constrained or expensive connectivity (like VSAT or cellular). Key features Publishes any tag to MQTT sends Ignition tag data to one or more MQTT servers, bridging SCADA data to IIoT platforms, cloud analytics, and ML tools. Drag-and-drop tag selection Ignition's visual tag editor lets you pick which tags to publish and apply renaming, scaling, or other transformations before sending. Store-and-forward reliability buffers time-stamped updates locally during a connection loss, then backfills history and resumes live transmission once reconnected, so no data is lost. Outbound-only, TLS-secured all connections originate from the Ignition gateway outward, so it can cross DMZ boundaries to reach cloud or enterprise systems without exposing anything inbound. Multi-broker support can transmit to several MQTT servers at once, for redundancy or hybrid cloud/on-prem setups. OPC UA-to-MQTT bridge connects legacy SCADA/HMI systems to modern MQTT-based platforms with minimal setup. Runs on Gateway or Edge deployable on either a full Ignition Gateway or a lightweight Edge device. File transfer over MQTT sends files (CSVs, images, binaries) from edge to core Ignition, triggerable by scripts, tag values, or system conditions (needs MQTT Engine + Transmission together).
