Terms of sale
What you agree to when you place an order here. Written to be read rather than to be survived.

Who you are buying from
These terms apply to every order placed on this site. Placing one means accepting them, and the version that applies is the one published when you ordered - not whatever it says here later.
We sell to businesses and to individuals alike, at the same prices. There is no trade tier, no account minimum and no volume gate. What changes with a business account is how you pay, not what you pay.
Prices and errors
Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax. They can change without notice, but never on an order already placed - the price you saw at checkout is the price on the invoice.
Catalogues carry errors. Where a price or a specification is obviously wrong, we will contact you before shipping and give you the choice of the corrected terms or a full cancellation. We will not quietly ship a different thing, and we will not quietly charge a different number.
A published specification is what we were told by the manufacturer. It is not a warranty of fitness for your application - that judgement is yours, and we are happy to be part of the conversation, but the decision that a part suits a duty is the engineer's.
Orders and acceptance
An order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when we ship it, not when the site says thank you. That distinction matters in exactly one case: we may decline an order we cannot fulfil, and we would rather decline it than take money for something that is not coming.
- Stock is not held by an unpaid cart. First to check out is first served.
- Export controls apply to some of what we sell, and an order that cannot lawfully ship to its destination will be cancelled and refunded in full.
- We may ask to verify an address or a payment method before shipping a large first order. It is not personal.
Title and risk
- Risk
- Passes to you on delivery. Until the carrier hands it over, a lost or damaged parcel is our problem to solve.
- Title
- Passes when we have been paid in full. On a card order those two moments are effectively the same; on account terms they are not.
Cancelling
Before it ships, cancel anything stocked for a full refund - just tell us. Special-order and built-to-order lines are the exception, because the moment we place them with a supplier they are ours whether you want them or not.
After it ships, it is a return, with the restocking terms on that page.
What we are liable for
The goods. We will repair, replace or refund a part that fails within its warranty, and where an order is wrong because we got it wrong, we fix it at our cost.
Our liability on any order is limited to what you paid for it. We are not liable for what a failure cost downstream - lost production, spoiled product, contract penalties, engineering time. That is not a dodge; it is the only basis on which a $200 part can be sold for $200 rather than priced against the plant it might sit in.
Nothing here limits anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
If something goes wrong between us
Tell us first. Genuinely - the overwhelming majority of disputes in this trade are a misunderstanding about a specification or a date, and they are resolved in a phone call by somebody who wants to resolve them.
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Ohio, and the courts there have jurisdiction.
