The aluminum alloy case handles heat dissipation passively, and it ships in two configurations depending on the serial mix your application needs. Like its HMI-series counterpart, this unit offers a choice between four RS485 ports for pure industrial fieldbus work, or two RS485 plus two RS232 for mixed modern and legacy serial equipment. Both configurations add a 1Mbps CAN interface, two digital inputs, two digital outputs, and audio I/O through a 3.5mm jack and speaker header, useful for applications that need local alerts or voice prompts alongside standard monitoring and control. An M.2 B KEY socket accepts a 4G or 5G communication module (sold separately) for cellular connectivity at remote sites, and an M.2 M KEY slot supports NVMe drives up to 2242 in size for fast local storage. Onboard EEPROM and an encryption chip add hardware-level security, and the unit supports both rail-mount and VESA mounting, so it fits equally well in a control cabinet or bolted to a wall.
