The EmberNode CM5 is a complete industrial edge computer in a single box. A quad-core ARM64 Cortex processor running at 2.4GHz comes installed in a fanless aluminum enclosure, paired with 8GB of ECC RAM and 32GB of onboard eMMC storage, so it arrives configured and ready to mount, wire, and power up. There’s no module sourcing, no carrier board matching, and no enclosure fitting to worry about. Networking is built around two Ethernet ports, one Gigabit and one 2.5G, so the node can bridge two networks or run a faster uplink alongside a standard connection. An M.2 B KEY socket takes a 4G or 5G module (sold separately) for sites without wired internet. Four RS485 ports handle industrial serial devices directly, a 1Mbps CAN interface covers controller-area network equipment, and two digital inputs and two digital outputs take care of basic field I/O. The HDMI output drives 4K displays, and an M.2 slot accepts an NVMe SSD (up to 2242) for extra local storage. It’s built for the cabinet, not the bench. The passively cooled aluminum case has no fan to fail, it mounts on a standard DIN rail (VESA mounting works too), and it runs on a wide 7V to 36V DC input. An onboard encryption chip and EEPROM add hardware-level security. Whether it’s gathering data from RS485 sensors, bridging a CAN bus onto the network, or running local edge applications, the EmberNode CM5 is ready to work out of the box.
