Vision Module

The Vision module is a tool for building and maintaining an interactive, accurate Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for a site. It integrates seamlessly with other Ignition modules and platform-level features, giving teams a straightforward way to visualize and present data to users. Vision screens are built from windows, which come in three types: main windows that fill available screen space, popup windows that appear on user action and stay on top until closed, and docked windows that hold navigation or status information in a fixed spot. Navigation options range from back/forward buttons and tab strips to multi-tier menus, and many are available as ready-to-use project templates. Screens are built from components (tanks, labels, buttons, charts, and more), each with properties controlling appearance and behavior, and brought to life through bindings, which connect a component's property to a live tag, database query, or expression elsewhere in Ignition. Vision also supports SVG, PNG, and JPEG graphics, including hundreds of built-in Symbol Factory images, plus reusable templates that update everywhere at once when the source template changes. If a Vision Client loses its Gateway connection, it displays a clear error and keeps attempting to reconnect automatically.
